Siberian Federal Universitet

Abstract
This article is dedicated to the analysis of the Enets' historical and cultural dynamics. This study is important
today because of the necessity of understanding the reasons and factors that resulted in the reduced population of
this ethnos. Based on the analysis of the existing scientific literature and field study data obtained by the scientists
and students of the Culturology Department of Siberian Federal University, the prospects of preserving the Enets'
original traditional culture have been identified. The result of this study is to justify the necessity of creating the
Enets writing system as one of key sociocultural factors that define positive cultural dynamics.

Key words: enets, historical and cultural dynamics, traditional culture, Enets language, indigenous smallnumbered peoples of the North, Krasnoyarsk Krai.

This study was supported by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization «Expert Center – Project Office for Arctic Development» (PORA)» aimed at executing the research works «Creation of the Ents (Enets) Writing System as a Means of Preservation of the Unique Cultural Heritage of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the North».
